The success of any buffing application requires a high quality compound of the correct grit and composition. But this is just one component of the total buffing system. Only by selecting the appropriate buffing wheel to work in concert with the compound can one expect to achieve the highest level of gloss in the least amount of time. Buffs for lacquer, polyester and polyurethane coatings
After sanding with progressive grits up to a minimum of 600 grit sandpaper, a two-step buffing process will produce excellent high gloss finishes. Starting with a pre-polish compound applied to a 60/60 cotton wheel, buff until the sanding marks are completely eliminated. Follow with a polishing compound applied to a bleached domet flannel wheel until the previous buffing marks have been eliminated and a high-gloss finish is achieved.

Please note that 60/60 cotton wheels are 0.5″ wide and may require multiple buffs stacked to achieve the required width.

Please note that bleached domet flannel wheels are 0.75″ to 1.00″ wide and may require multiple buffs stacked to achieve the required width.

Please note: Airway buffs (which have metal centers) require the use of the appropriate sized flange for safe operation. Be sure to use a flange that is 1″ larger in diameter than the metal center. For example, when ordering a 14″ x 5″ buff, you should use a 6″ diameter flange.
